Marc Scott became The University of Tulsa's second track and field national champion as he took the lead and pulled away down the stretch to win the 10,000-meters at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships on Wednesday evening at historic Hayward Field. The redshirt senior won the event with a time of 29:01.54 as he earned his eighth all-American honor.

Scott joins Chris O'Hare (Indoor Mile, 2012) as the second Tulsa individual national champion in program history and the first in an outdoor event.

Fellow senior Luke Traynor earned his fourth all-American nod with an eighth place finish, posting a time of 29:10:58 as he finished inside the top-15 for the second consecutive year at the national meet.

Scott will be back on the track for the 5,000-meter run on Friday at 9:25 p.m. CT.
