Five people were taken to a Broken Arrow hospital after a wrong-way crash in the eastbound lanes of the Creek Turnpike at Kenosha early Tuesday.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the driver of a Honda Civic got on the turnpike going west in the eastbound lanes. That driver, 31-year-old Meskerem Markos of Broken Arrow, was trying to turn around when her car was hit by an eastbound Infiniti.
Four people in the Civic - including a 9-year-old girl - along with the driver in the other car were injured in the crash.
The crash closed the eastbound lanes for a short time while crews investigated and cleaned up the wreckage.
As of noon Tuesday, only the driver of the Honda remained in the hospital. Markos was said to be stable with head, leg and internal injuries. She was pinned in the Honda and freed by Broken Arrow firefighters.
The OHP says all five people were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
