Tulsa will learn the winner of the Arkansas River Pedestrian Bridge design challenge early Monday morning. Mayor G.T. Bynum will unveil which of two designs was chosen in an 8:30 a.m. news conference.
The process started back on March 20 when the City of Tulsa asked for bridge designs to replace the old, structurally deficient bridge. A bridge selection committee narrowed 234 responses to four that went before the public for feedback.
The bridge designs were narrowed to two finalists back on May 1: The Gateway and The Crossing. The architects of each design were given 30 days to make adjustments based on public feedback and budget constraints.
