Oklahoma Highway Patrol said a DUI driver deliberately ran another driver off the road before crashing himself. The injury wreck took place just before 11 p.m. Saturday, June 3 in Atoka County.

Troopers said John Hill's Dodge pickup and another vehicle were eastbound on State Highway 3 a few miles east of Lane. Hill, 26, pulled up beside a Ford sedan and swerved into the side of it, forcing it off the road, according to a collision report.

The Ford, driven by Jerry Lee Vinson Jr. of Durant, went off the road to the right and overturned an unknown number of times, a collision report states.

Vinson, 20, wasn't hurt. One of his passengers had leg injuries but refused treatment at the scene. Troopers said there were two other people in the Ford but their names and injuries are unknown.

Hill's Dodge pickup ran off the left side of the roadway and through a fence. The Antlers resident was taken by medical helicopter to a Denison hospital where he's said to be stable with head injuries.

His passengers, 24-year-old Andrew Carter and 18-year-old Robert Hill - both of Antlers - weren't seriously hurt, the report said.

Troopers said Hill was driving under the influence and the cause of the wreck was DUI, intentional act. Hill wasn't wearing a seatbelt, the report states.

There's no word on why Hill deliberately ran the other driver off the road.
