A tip led to the arrest of a 38-year-old man who Sand Springs Police said stole a trailer from Charles Page High School that was filled with school property.

Police arrested James McDaniels on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

Police received a tip on Tuesday a little after 8 p.m. that the trailer was at a Sand Springs house. Officers went to the location and saw the trailer and also a truck they say matched the truck on surveillance footage from the theft on May 29.

Officers determined the trailer belonged to the school. Police said McDaniels was using it to move him and his female roommate into a house on East Forrest Drive.

The trailer was full of the female's belongings when the officers recovered it and none of the school's property was inside, police said.

McDaniels told officers they could find the school's items in the backyard of a Tulsa residence. Detectives said they do not believe the people at the Tulsa residence were involved in the crime.

Police continue to investigate and are looking for others who may have been involved in the crime.
