Ashlee Virostko said the wind was powerful.
"Went from zero to, I can't even imagine how fast it went," she said.
She and her husband, Dimo, told their kids to move just moments before a 2-by-4 shot through their roof and into the living room where they were.
"It was all just instinct I think. Any parent or anybody - it's just the first thing you do, is you think about, you think about your children. They're our life," she said.
The family of five took shelter and waited out the storm.
Virostko said, "We all got to the bathroom safely - thank God"
Nearby, Jim Dugger is dealing with damage to his garage and storage building after part of the roof landed on his pickup.
"I don't know what you can do - just take it, and go on," he said.
Others, like Kerri McDaris, are dealing with tree damage.
"The last time it was 120 mile an hour wind, we had all these trees come down. And we cleaned it all up, finally got it all burned off, and here we are again," McDaris said.
As for the Virostko family, they’re staying somewhere else until their home is repaired.
