Oklahoma State basketball coach Mike Boynton has appointed longtime OSU administrator Lance Troester as the program's assistant athletic director for men's basketball.

Troester arrived in Stillwater in 2006, and has worked closely with the basketball program as OSU's assistant AD/compliance. No stranger to his new role, Troester previously served as the assistant director of men's basketball operations at Florida State under former Cowboy head coach Leonard Hamilton.

"Lance brings tremendous value to our staff as our new assistant AD for basketball, and we're excited to have him come on board with us," Boynton said. "He'll obviously be involved in the day-to-day operations of our program, but he'll also be heavily involved with our on-campus activities from a recruiting standpoint. Most importantly, he'll be someone who keeps the staff organized internally. He has great experience in this role from his time at Florida State, and he's someone that brings a great deal of compliance knowledge as well. I look forward to working with him going forward."

Since arriving at OSU, Troester has worked with every Cowboy and Cowgirl sport in helping oversee the compliance department in its mission of developing, implementing and maintaining effective policies and procedures related to compliance with the NCAA, Big 12 Conference and the institution itself.

In his new position of assistant AD/basketball, Troester will handle the day-to-day operations of the program, including team travel and scheduling.

"I would like to thank coach Boynton for this wonderful opportunity to join his staff," Troester said. "I've had the opportunity to get to know him over the last year, and I'm very excited about the direction of OSU basketball. I've been fortunate enough to work closely with the men's basketball program over my 11 years at OSU, and I'm excited about joining such a historic program in a role I have such passion for."

A native of Garnavillo, Iowa, Troester earned his Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science/Sports Management from Iowa State University in 2002. While at Iowa State, he worked with the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) and volunteered with the Iowa State Games.

After earning his undergraduate degree, Troester accepted a position at Florida State University as the assistant director of men's basketball operations, where he coordinated team travel, organized recruiting visits, and assisted in organizing the Leonard Hamilton Basketball Camps as well as the community relations events for FSU players and coaches.

Troester went on to earn his Master's degree in Sports Management from Florida State in 2005, and served as a graduate assistant in the compliance office at Florida State athletics. He and his wife, Jamie, have a daughter, Lilli.
