A posthumous bachelor's degree for Craig County Deputy Sean Cookson was given to his wife during Northeastern State University's graduation ceremony.

Cookson had just accepted a position with the Sheriff's Department when he died in a car crash earlier this year.

"I wish Sean could have been here to see everybody," his wife said. "He was super proud to be a deputy of Craig County. He only got to serve about two weeks, but he loved every day of it. Every day he came home with a new story."
