A bill has been pulled from the Oklahoma House that nonprofit executives say would have removed incentives for large charitable donations.
CEO of Susan G Komen Tulsa Pam Ballard says she was surprised to learn of the bill that would have capped charitable deductions at $17,000.
She says the Oklahoma taxpayers who would have been affected contribute up to 15 percent of the nonprofits' budgets.
"That’s a huge percentage of our contributions,” said Ballard. “Those contributions come in the last three days of the calendar year. So, that deduction really does matter."
Ballard's hoping nonprofit donations won't be targeted in any more bills.
