One of the things that many love about baseball is the connection between the stars of the present and the greats of the past.
For the next eight days, baseball fans in Green Country can experience that just outside the gates at ONEOK Field.
"The idea was to put Cooperstown on display throughout the whole country,” said National Baseball Hall of Fame and museum representative Andy Couch.
Cooperstown, just feet from where big league hopefuls play, relics from the best to ever to do it are on display.
"A lot of people really like seeing Babe Ruth's bat from his 60-home run season,” said Couch.
Along with The Babe's bat, a vintage Honus Wagner card, Harry Caray's glasses and David Freese's ripped 2011 world series jersey are just some of the items to take in during four exhibits and two virtual reality experiences at the baseball hall of fame tour. It includes a "digital hall of fame" that lets visitors scroll through every plaque in the hall, including all seven Oklahomans.
"Tulsa has a great, passionate fan base, and we really like the spot here,” Couch stated. “We're in the Brady District; there's a lot going on. First Friday this week, homestand coming up, so that definitely went into a lot of it."
If you come out to the exhibit, who knows what you might find, your favorite team, your favorite player, or even yourself.
