Wednesday, students from Wright Elementary went on a field trip to the Tulsa Zoo with some of their heroes.

Some Tulsa firefighters escorted the kids around the zoo.

The students are deaf and the firefighters volunteered at their school throughout the year.

Captain Justin Ellington said, "It's just something to give back to the kids. It really means a lot to me and it's one of my favorite things about being a fireman is getting to hang out with these kids."

The firefighters said it was great to hang out with the kids outside of the classroom.
