Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has issued a disaster declaration for the communities affected by the explosion of the Airosol Plant in Neodesha on Tuesday.
The State of Emergency declaration applies to Montgomery and Wilson Counties.
KGGF Radio in Coffeyville, Kansas reports the Federal Emergency Management Administration has provided the state with a three day supply of bottled water for residents in and around Coffeyville, Independence and Neodesha.
KGGF also reports the 190th Air Refueling Wing out of Wichita is helping with deployment of two water filtering systems. One of those is a reverse osmosis unit being used at Elk City Reservoir to support water production efforts.
