The cold front that brought the active weather to the region last night is exiting southeastern OK early this morning and will set the stage for some pleasant conditions for almost the entire Thanksgiving Holiday period.

Another strong looking system may approach the area Sunday or Sunday night with a round of thunderstorms across eastern OK and western Arkansas.

The upper air flow will remain active for the next few days with another wave passing north of the area Thursday.  This will shove a cold front across the area by late Thanksgiving evening bringing a shot of slightly cooler air to the area Friday.

South winds will return across eastern OK Saturday in advance of the above-mentioned Sunday system. Temperatures will climb into the 60s this weekend with pleasant conditions until Sunday afternoon or evening when the storm chances will return along with very windy conditions.

News On 6 Weather

Our weather today looks good. The wraparound of the departing upper level trough may bring a few clouds occasionally across northeastern OK today but we anticipate mostly sunny conditions for most of the area by midday to afternoon. Temperatures this morning will start in the 40s and should end with highs in the upper 50s along with north winds near 10 to 15 mph.

The winds will return from the south early Thursday morning with lows in the 30s and climb into the mid or upper 60s with mostly sunny conditions for Thanksgiving afternoon.    Later Thursday night the next front will move across the area but the lack of low level moisture will keep the frontal passage dry with pre-dawn Friday temps dropping into the mid-30s.   North winds Friday will keep the daytime highs cool with many spots staying in the mid-50s.

After the Sunday storm system exits the area Monday, the data continue to bring some colder air into the central plains by the middle to end of next week.
