Creek County Man Wakes Up To Grass Fire Outside Home

A Creek County man was awaken to find a grass fire burning behind his rural home early Saturday.

The fire which burned several acres was on 193rd West Avenue near Highway 33.

Jeffrey Crawford says someone knocked on his door and told him his yard was on fire.

"So I got up, I went outside and to get hands-on with the fire with a shovel. Called 911, and asked them to come out and help us out," said Jeffrey Crawford.

The Kellyville Fire Department responded.  They said one storage building was destroyed before firefighters could knock it down.

No one was injured.

Firefighters did not know how the fire started.
