Three Tahlequah officers were cleared of any wrongdoing in a fatal shooting.
Wednesday, the District Attorney’s Office cleared Lieutenant Brandon Vick, Officer Chase Reed and Officer Josh Girdner.
In a statement on the Tahlequah Police Facebook page, Chief Nate King said, “After reviewing the information surrounding the case I was certain this would be the case and put all three officers back to work some time ago.”
King also said the shooting was a tragic event for the city and “Our thought and prayers continue to be with all those involved, their families and friends.”
In August, video showed the officers shot Dominic Rollice six times when he refused to put down a hammer in his ex-wife’s garage.

At the time, King said officers tried to pat down Rollice, but he refused and walked to a workbench in the garage.
In the video, you can hear officers order Rollice to drop the hammer several times, but he refuses.
Then, Reed lets the other officers know he was going to use his Taser. Ten seconds later, Rollice appears ready to throw the hammer.
That's when police say Girdner and Vick fired five rounds in about one second, the same time the Taser went off. Girdner fired one more shot later.
Reed performed CPR for eight minutes. Rollice died at a hospital.
