A man robbed the St. Francis Credit Union Monday afternoon just hours after another man robbed the Arvest Bank inside Walmart at Admiral and Memorial.
In the first robbery, Tulsa Police said the man came into the bank at about 1 p.m., handed a note to a teller which said he had a gun. The teller gave him cash and he ran out of the bank.
They said he got into a red 2006 to 2010 Ford pickup truck. The truck was a crew cab with chrome trim, a bed cover and gray body filler on the passenger side door.
In that first robbery the man was described as a white man with a beard in his late 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a gray hoodie, blue jeans and sneakers.
Police arrested 35-year-old Brandon Newberry. Jail records show he's being held on more than $100,000 bond for complains of first-degree robbery by force or fear and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Police said a different man robbed the St. Francis Credit Union at 66th and South Yale at about 3 p.m. A police supervisor at the scene said the two robberies were absolutely not connected.
No one was hurt in either robbery.
