Cold mornings and mild afternoons. That is pretty much what we expect this time of year, and that’s exactly what’s on tap for our Saturday and the rest of our weekend!
A light but steady east-northeast breeze will continue throughout most of our Saturday, keeping a little chill in the air. That breeze will generally average around 10 mph or less, but you may want to keep at least a light jacket handy throughout the day!
We’re expecting very seasonable afternoon temperatures with plenty of sunshine and highs in the low 60s, making for another great day to get outside and perhaps check out some fall foliage colors! We're nearing the peak for fall foliage season across most of eastern Oklahoma, so now is the time to get out and check out those colors!
Another chilly to cold night will greet us with overnight lows dipping back into the upper 30s by early Sunday morning. Some locations in extreme NE OK and along the Oklahoma/Arkansas border may come close to the freezing mark, so keep an eye on those tender plants!
Slightly warmer conditions return on Sunday as we return to a light southerly breeze. A few more high clouds will shift through eastern Oklahoma, but won’t have much impact on our weather with highs climbing into the mid 60s.
Sunday will be the beginning of a noticeable warming trend over the next several days, with highs climbing well above normal into the 70s for most of the upcoming week and very strong southerly winds returning as well.
We are keeping an eye on a strong system by the end of next week, which may bring a few storms but will more likely bring a quick return to much chillier weather by next weekend.
