The Tulsa football team kept rolling, improving to 7-2 on the year with a 45-24 home victory over East Carolina Saturday night at Chapman Stadium.
Scoring Synopsis
Flanders started the night early, getting TU on the board first with a 22-yard run.
The Golden Hurricane quickly elevated their lead 14-0 with a score from Keevan Lucas off a 14-yard pass from Dane Evans.
ECU answered back and trimmed Tulsa’s lead 14-7 with a 51-yard scoring pass with 4:41 left in the first quarter.
Midway through the second quarter, Redford Jones tacked on three more points for the Hurricane with a 41-yard field goal.
Flanders stayed hot tallying over 1,000 yards on the season before intermission.
An end zone appearance from Josh Atkinson gave Tulsa a 24-7 lead entering halftime.
The Pirates showed some fight as the second half got underway, cutting their deficit 24-14 with a one-yard touchdown.
But Tulsa answered back with another score from Flanders on a seven-yard rush.
Tulsa kept rolling offensively, making it a 38-17 game with 6:01 to play in the third quarter.
The Golden Hurricane wrapped with a touchdown from D’Angelo Brewer and held East Carolina to 24 for the win.
