Multiple Crashes Close Westbound Lanes Of I-44 In Rogers County

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is still investigating after multiple accidents shut down part of the Will Rogers Turnpike near Claremore Wednesday evening.

Troopers say three to four vehicles were involved in the initial crash in the westbound lanes near the Claremore exit at about 5:15 p.m.

They say that crash led to several other crashes involving seven to eight vehicles total.

Westbound traffic was diverted off the turnpike for about two and a half hours while the wreckage was removed from the highway.  

No injuries were reported.
