Police arrested a man Monday night after officers say he attacked a firefighter who was fighting a house fire.
He is identified as Dale Parsons, 48.
Officers said the assault happened in the 2500 block of North Kingston just before 11:30 a.m.
Police said the firefighter was attempting to keep people from re-entering the burning home. That firefighter told officers Parsons, who lives in the home, repeatedly hit him with a flashlight and knocked him down.
More firefighters arrived at the scene and stopped the assault as well as put out the fire.
Police booked Dale Parsons into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of assault with a dangerous weapon, interfering with a firefighter as well as several drug-related complaints.
TFD said the electricity was not connected at the time and they were borrowing power from a home next door.
They also said they aren't sure why the men were so adamant about getting back inside while crews were trying to put the fire out.
Jail records show Parsons has a court appearance set for October 11th.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
