A Creek County bridge in need of major repairs has been closed indefinitely, but it could be closed up to a year due to lack of funding, according to Creek County District 2 Commissioner Rick Stewart.
The bridge, which leads to Pelican Point, is located along 289th East Avenue, about one mile south of Highway 51, southeast of Mannford.
It showed signs of deterioration and severe rust when county officials inspected it Tuesday.
The price tag to make the bridge safe and driveable again is at least $150,000, Stewart said.
Residents of Pelican Point peninsula are now looking at a 10-mile detour to get home.
