After a shaky start to our holiday weekend, we should end up with some beautiful weather.
Highs today will be in the mid to upper 80s but the best part will be comfortable humidity levels. Sunshine and light winds will also make today very nice. Winds will be out of the east and southeast for much of today. We have great conditions for golfing, boating and most outdoor activities which is nice for an extra long weekend.
A warming trend is in store for us through the weekend. Highs on Sunday will reach into the low 90s. Humidity will be slightly higher. It will still be a nice day to be outside. We'll have a stronger breeze out of the southeast around 10 to 15 miles per hour. If you're planning on floating down the Illinois River, the 15 mile per hour breeze could give your arms a workout. Boating conditions are still fine just make sure you are careful on area lakes.
For Labor Day it's self, a surface low pressure system will be strengthening to our northwest. That means our wind speeds will become higher for Monday. Winds from the south around 10 to 20, along with a lot of sunshine will boost day time highs into the mid 90s. Added humidity with also increase heat index values to near 99 for the afternoon. The higher wind speeds along with more boaters on area lakes could make the water choppy. Also, folks taking part in Tulsa's Great Raft Race will have to paddle against the wind.
Overall, the weather is nice for a holiday weekend. Make sure you enjoy it but also make sure that you stay safe.
