For the weekend warriors and those planning on spending their time outside, stay alert Saturday for showers and storms nearby.
We have a chance for scattered showers and storms Saturday afternoon. A few storms could be strong with heavy rain and frequent lightning. Storm chances will decrease after the sunsets tonight but a few showers could linger into the overnight hours.
On Sunday, we repeat the process. A few morning showers should develop, much like this morning. Then we expect afternoon storms to develop. Storms could develop as early as late morning so again it is important to stay alert for Sunday as well.
The air is warm and humid for the weekend and that’s the way it will stay through the coming week.
Daily rain and storm chances remain slight but they’re in the forecast for the entire work week.
Once we get to next weekend rain chances will wind down, just in time for Labor Day. A lot of folks will be heading out to area lakes and our weather is looking like it be nice “lake weather”.
Heat will start to build back in so highs are expected in the mid 90s. Could be warmer depending on how much rain we receive this week. Winds will be breezy from the south so some area lakes could get choppy.
