Lightning Strike Suspected In Owasso House Fire

Lightning is suspected in a house fire near 76th Street North and Highway 75 in Owasso.

The homeowner said he woke up to lightning hitting the house.

Owasso and Turley fire departments are working to contain the fire.

The fire happened around 8:00 Thursday night near Whirlpool Drive and 76th Street North.

Firefighters spent much of their time working on getting the fire out on the backside of the home in the attic area.

Homeowner James Baccus is glad everyone made out okay.

"It was just that big burst of lightning. I feel asleep and it woke me up. I had to find my clothes, keys to all the cars and stuff, tried to get out of there," he said.

Baccus says this is his dream home and has insurance.
