Heavy rainfall along with lightning and thunder hammered northeast Oklahoma Saturday morning.

Ponding on roadways is an issue as well as power outages. The rain and storms should wind down around lunch time for most of the area but we will be watching for additional isolated storms Saturday afternoon.

With morning clouds and rain temperatures should stay below the century mark Saturday. Highs are looking at the mid-90s for Tulsa. Warmer to the south where more sunshine will occur.

Heat advisories are in effect for counties along I-40 and to the south. Heat index values are expected to be around 105 to 108.

In Tulsa, our heat index could get as high as a 100 degrees.

Saturday night should be mostly quiet. Chances for showers and storms will stay across far northeastern and eastern Oklahoma through Sunday.

Temperatures will slowly climb back into the upper 90s for Sunday afternoon. Heat index values will be back above 105 tomorrow afternoon.

We have chances for isolated storms over the next several days. High pressure aloft is still dominating and will do so for most of the week but a few storms could still prevail.

Highs will return to triple digits for the middle to the end of this work week.
