Tulsa police say they were led to a dead body in the woods late Wednesday morning.
A news release says officers were dispatched to the Kum-N-Go at 21st and Sheridan to meet with a man who said he found the body near Pine and U.S. Highway 169.
According to TPD, the witness led officers to a wooded area just west of the off-ramp from U.S. 169 southbound onto westbound Interstate 244, where the body was located.
Officers said the person appeared to have been dead "for some time."
“The witness who found the body said he had been fishing and ‘exploring’ the area prior to finding deceased,” TPD said in the release. “He said he did not know who the victim was.”
TPD has not released a description or identification of the deceased person.
Crime scene detectives are processing the scene.
