Firefighters battled a large fire at a Tulsa apartment complex Monday night.

Crews responded to the Tower Crossing Apartment in the 4400 block of South 109th East Avenue just before 9 p.m.

Tenant Kyle Barnett said he was inside the apartment having dinner with his girlfriend when the fire started.

"Next thing you know, we smell something. So, we thought it was our oven 'cause we're cooking; I was roasting chicken. And we look in there and nothing's going on, so we're like 'what the hell is this?' So I open the blinds, and the next thing I know, I see a flame," he said.

The Tulsa Fire Department was called and was able to contain the fire.

No one was injured.

Tulsa firefighters later said the fire has been listed as accidental though they don't have an exact cause yet. The fire damage was limited to one apartment - and the eaves above it - with a little water and smoke damage to three other units.
