A Tulsa dentist accused of killing the 19-month-old son of the woman with whom police said was having an affair was appeared in court Monday by video conference.

The Oklahoma County District Attorney's office says 35-year-old Bert Franklin will be tried for first-degree murder in this case.

Monday, a judge entered a not guilty plea for Franklin and said he would continue to be held in jail without bond.

Police said Lincoln Lewis was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital with a suspicious skull fracture. His injuries were so severe he was flown to a Tulsa hospital where he died.
