Tulsa Dentist Faces First-Degree Murder Charge In Boy's Death

<p>A Tulsa dentist accused of killing the 19-month-old son of the woman with whom&nbsp;police said was having an affair is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Oklahoma City.&nbsp;</p>

A Tulsa dentist accused of killing the 19-month-old son of the woman with whom police said was having an affair was appeared in court Monday by video conference.

The Oklahoma County District Attorney's office says 35-year-old Bert Franklin will be tried for first-degree murder in this case.

Monday, a judge entered a not guilty plea for Franklin and said he would continue to be held in jail without bond.

Police said Lincoln Lewis was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital with a suspicious skull fracture. His injuries were so severe he was flown to a Tulsa hospital where he died.

Franklin was arrested in Tulsa July 20th and booked into Oklahoma County jail five days later.

The baby's mother told investigators Franklin was the only one in the room with the baby when it happened and she has the surveillance video to prove it.

Franklin is the owner of Signature Smiles dentistry at 65th and South Yale. The business is now closed.
