A Claremore firefighter killed in the line of duty will be inducted into the International Firefighters Hall of Fame.
Capt. Jason Farley was killed last year while rescuing people from rising floodwaters.
He will be inducted into the hall of fame in September in Colorado Springs.
A group of local firefighters are hoping to raise enough money to send Farley's family and some of the Claremore firefighters to the ceremony.
They are hosting a golf tournament at the Heritage Hills Golf Course next month.
"Them having to go to Colorado Springs on their own money, I want to step up and pay for it and let them have the best weekend possible,” Jeremy Hewin said.
The golf tournament benefiting the Farley family and Claremore firefighters is Aug. 16 at Heritage Hills Golf Course in Claremore.
It's $300 for a four-person team and sponsorships range in price from $100 to $500.
