The nomination of Bartlesville's Price Tower in Bartlesville to the World Heritage list was referred for further discussion following a meeting of the World Heritage Committee last week in Turkey.

The Price Tower, one of ten buildings in seven states designed by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, was nominated for inclusion on the list in January 2015.

Price Tower Arts Center Executive Director, Scott Ambler says he was disappointed but he says the decision to refer simply says "not now".

Ambler told BartlesvilleRadio.com, there are four possible outcomes when a nomination is presented for inscription as a World Heritage Site. The four options included to inscribe, to refer, to defer or to deny.  A decision to refer is generally seen as being more encouraging and may lead to a quicker inscription in the future.

The 19-story Price Tower is the only skyscraper ever designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
