Elderly Driver Causes Wrong-Way Tulsa Crash, Police Say

A wrong-way driver caused a crash on Highway 169 around 4:30 a.m. Tulsa Police said an elderly driver in a blue car apparently got confused and went southbound in the northbound lanes.

Authorities said they were notified of the wrong-way driver, but before they got to the scene, she hit a Jeep just north of 11th Street. The woman driving the Jeep saw the oncoming headlights but thought at first the car was on the other side of the highway.

She tried to swerve at the last minute but was unable to avoid the car.

Tulsa firefighters and EMSA responded. We're told no one was seriously hurt.
