Driver Critical After Tulsa Rollover Crash

Tulsa firefighters used the jaws of life to free a woman from a rollover wreck Sunday morning. It took place near Charles Page Boulevard and 51st Street West around 8:45 a.m.

The Kia Soul rolled and hit a pole, smashing the roof and front windshield. Police said the driver was northbound on 51st West Avenue, crossed the roadway, went through a ditch and crashed into the pole.

Firefighters cut through the sunroof to rescue the woman. A firefighter told News On 6 that from witness reports, they believe the woman may have suffered from a medical condition before wrecking, but the cause is still under investigation.

PSO has arrived on scene. They said 36 customers are without power after the crash.

The driver has been taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to authorities at the scene.
