A Tulsa man is in custody after a standoff with police.

Corporal Gene Watkins said officers responded to a residence near 15th and Columbia Thursday afternoon; they were looking for a man with warrants for domestic assault and escape.

Watkins said when they arrived they watched the house and waited for their suspect, 30-year-old Michael Burrow, to exit the home.

Officers said Burrow came out of the home and they rushed, but Burrow was able to get back into the home and into the attic.

Police and Burrow were involved with a standoff. Watkins said officers used pepper balls to get him out of the attic. He also said the heat helped get him out as well.

Burrow surrendered and was taken into custody.

Jail records show he’s being held on his original, Watkins said they will also add resisting arrest.
