Fort Gibson Police Search For Man Exposing Self To Children

Fort Gibson police are on the hunt for a man exposing himself to children all over town.

The latest incident happened Tuesday night to an 8-year-old girl. Now the family is on the lookout.

With a baseball bat by her side, one Fort Gibson teen is in big sister mode.

"She's pretty independent, wants to sleep by herself and wants to do things by herself; but last night she was real…on edge, and she's still on edge," the teen said.

Tuesday, her little sister became the latest victim of a man exposing himself to children. It happened just down the street from their home.

"She's 8 years old. I don't understand what kind of creep would have that mindset, like, ‘Oh, there's an 8 year old just riding her bike down the street, let's go expose ourselves to her.’ I think that's disgusting," she said.

The little girl said the whole thing happened in the middle of the street. She said a van pulled up and the man rolled down the window and asked her for directions, then, he asked her to come closer.

Her sister said, "He said, ‘Come a little closer, I can't hear you.’ She said no and she told me that's when he pulled his pants down and exposed himself."

This is the most recent of at least four different incidents reported in Fort Gibson - one happened right outside the school.

The story was the same for all incidents - a guy in his 20s to early 30s, about 5-feet-9-inches with dark hair, tan skin and facial acne pulls up to children, asks them to come up to his silver Dodge van, then exposes himself.

Chief Donnie Yarbrough said, “This is very upsetting to this community. Again, we will not put up with it. We will not tolerate anything like this in this community, and everyone can rest assured we are looking. I can guarantee you that."

Until then, the latest victim’s big sister is on the lookout and said she won't sleep until he's behind bars.
