Man Charged In Chamberlain Park Double Murder

Charges have been filed against the man arrested for the Chamberlain Park double murder.

Jacky Cardale Mayfield is facing two counts of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Police arrested the 27-year-old after receiving information he was involved in the double murder of Meshawna Jones and Markey Goff.

Jones and Goff were found shot to death inside an SUV at Chamberlain Park on June 14.

Police said a person jogging in the park that morning saw a 5-year-old on the playground. The child told the jogger his mom was hurt and took the jogger to the SUV.

In addition to Jones and Goff, the jogger found a 1-year-old boy inside the SUV, unharmed.
