Tulsa Police said they believe they have recovered a weapon used in the murder of Johnathan Stephens this weekend. Someone walking at the Shoreline Apartments found an AK-47 under a dock near a pond located on the property.

"The gun is believed to be the one used in the Stephens murder due to its proximity of the suspects movements after the murder," Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said in a news release.

Police had already recovered a handgun the night of the murder.

Police said Stephens, 27, was killed during a series of carjackings. Emmitt Sam, 17, and Nathan Simmons, 16, are in the Tulsa County jail on first-degree murder complaints.

The family has established a GoFundMe account to help the family pay for funeral expenses.
