Oklahoma State’s College World Series run came to an end with a 5-1 loss to Arizona.
Scoring Summary
Arizona took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when a leadoff double from Cody Ramer resulted in a steal of third followed by an RBI groundout to second base by Zach Gibbons.
Before entering the second inning, the Wildcats elevated their lead 2-0 after Jared Oliva popped up to center, scoring Ryan Aguilar.
Louis Boyd kept Arizona rolling at the bottom of the second when he ripped a double down the line to score Kyle Lewis, making it his seventh double of the postseason.
Boyd soon scored after Gibbons got in on the Wildcats fun with a double to right-center.
With a 4-0 deficit at the top of the third, OSU got on the board with a sacrifice fly to left from J.R. Davis that brought in Corey Hassel.
Later in the fifth inning, Gibbons answered for the Wildcats again, singling through the left side to score Boyd. With the hit, Gibbons was 2-3 with 3 RBI’s on the day.
Arizona held its lead to advance to the finals.
