A 43-year-old man was arrested on a kidnapping complaint in an overnight domestic dispute. Tulsa Police said Willie Whitman refused to let his ex-girlfriend leave his hotel room when she came over to retrieve some of her stuff.

Officers said they first went to the Georgetown Plaza in the 8500 block of East 27th Street on reports of a possible hit and run. They found a 26-year-old woman who said she was running away from Whitman after getting out of the hotel room. Whitman reportedly chased her to her car and grabbed the steering wheel through the open car window, causing her to crash into the building and a parked car.

The woman and her 8-year-old child were able to get free and run to a nearby apartment complex where they called police. No one was hurt, records show.

Whitman was released on bond early Tuesday.
