Enrollment is beginning for a new private school for underprivileged children in Tulsa.
Drexel Academy, located at 1 West 36th Street North will start their first school year on August 17. School officials say enrollment meetings are set for June 14, 21, and 28 at 6 p.m.
They say Drexel is unique because it's a private school with no religious affiliation, and it will have a longer school year, a longer school day and an intense curriculum.
Officials say they are only offering kindergarten through second grade this year, but plan to add a grade every year until they get to eighth grade.

Principal Amy Putman says the school's mission is the under-served in Tulsa.
"The school will provide a holistic education to students who have been under served. The goal is to nurture academic, social and emotional habits to empower our students to achieve their potential and encourage them to be leaders who give back to their communities," said Amy Putman.
Putman says tuition is based on what the family can pay and enrollment is limited because class sizes are small, only 15 students.
