Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating after a multiple-vehicle crash in the eastbound lanes of Will Rogers Turnpike near the Afton exit Saturday afternoon.

The OHP says the injury crash happened just after noon at mile marker 299, just west of Afton and involved a semi and three other vehicles.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes.

In a collision report, troopers said a semi truck, driven by Jose Antonio Morales of El Paso, swerved to avoid another vehicle that had its emergency flashers on while driving slowly in the outside lane. When Morales swerved, he hit another car.

That car, driven by 32-year-old Lakaya McCloud of Milwaukee, hit the center wall and knocked some concrete off. That debris struck a motorcycle driven by Jessie Gay Sheppard, a 64-year-old Harrah resident. She was admitted to a Joplin hospital where she's said to be stable.

Two other vehicles also hit the concrete debris, but no one was hurt.

The motorcyclist was the only one hurt badly enough to be admitted to the hospital.
