The mother of a 16-year-old boy who broke into a home and was stabbed to death is speaking out.
She says the 14-year-old boy he was with was not an innocent bystander, but he was the ringleader.
Demondray Porter's mother says he was a good kid until two years ago when he met a friend named Payton Hendrick.
His life then went downhill, she said.
Now, Demondray is dead.
"Demondray got good grades, he wanted to be an architect when he grew up, and met that one friend that was detrimental to his life," his mother Charlene Porter said.
She says she filed runaway reports on her son because he stayed at Payton's house. She took him to juvenile detention, sent him to Oklahoma City, took him to programs, fought with Payton's mom over letting Demondray stay at their home, but she said nothing worked.
She says she wouldn't see him for days at a time and she kept telling him something bad would happen.
"My worst nightmare came true," Charlene said.
Police say Demondray, Payton, and two others broke into an apartment, held a couple at gunpoint to rob them, and during a struggle, the woman grabbed a knife and killed Demondray.

Payton was arrested and faces a charge of felony murder.
"I do take responsibility because he shouldn't have been there; he should've been at home,” Charlene said.
She believes Payton's mom also should take responsibility for her child, instead of claiming he has the mind of a 10-year-old and blaming it all on Demondray.
She points out the woman's other son is in prison for murder.
Police say Payton was in the car that night.
"She is the root of this whole issue," Charlene said.
Charlene will bury Demondray later this week.
He was the oldest of her five children.
