A woman being held against her will accidentally dialed her ex-husband who helped deputies rescue her, according to court documents.

According to an arrest affidavit, Derek Breedlove, 34, refused to let the woman leave his home in the southeast part of Washington County and beat the victim over several days before the accidental call.

Deputies said the victim unknowingly called her ex, who heard what was going on and called the sheriff's office. The affidavit doesn't specify how she had access to her phone or exactly how the call was made.

Deputies went to the home and arrested Breedlove. The victim told deputies Breedlove had threatened to kill her and had put bolts on the doors to keep her from opening them.

Deputies found numerous bruises and abrasions on the victim.

Prosecutors charged Breedlove with kidnapping and domestic assault and battery. Breedlove is being held in the Washington County jail on a $100,000 bond with his next court appearance set for June 17.
