Police: BA Woman Assaults Officers During Drunk Driving Arrest

Police say a 32-year-old woman suspected of driving drunk late Sunday in Broken Arrow fought officers who arrested her.

Officers said after getting a call about a possible drunk driver, they found Lashaunna McConnell's car idling in a parking space in the 1600 block of West Quincy Street. They said she tried to back the car up, but stopped and got out. 

As police tried to arrest McConnell, they said she fought with officers, slipping one hand out of her handcuffs.  During the struggle, police stated in their report, McConnell screamed obscenities, racial slurs, spit on the officers and tried to kick them. 

Lashaunna McConnell of Broken Arrow was booked into the Tulsa County jail on several complaints including resisting arrest and assault and battery on an officer.

Jail records show she has a court appearance set for June 7.
