Three People Killed In Crash Near Tahlequah

Three people were killed in a crash just south of Tahlequah this Memorial Day. It happened on Highway 82 just after 4:00 p.m.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a 2003 Chrysler van was headed south on Highway 82 when it lost control, sliding across the center line and hit a 2005 Ford truck heading north.

The driver of the van, 42-year-old Kathleen Zuniga and passenger Jimenes Morales, 51, were pronounced dead at the scene due to injures as a result of the crash.

OHP said another passenger, 20-year-old Ebaristo Mata, was transported to a Tulsa hospital and is in critical condition.

According to the report, a passenger in the truck, 74-year-old Caroline Hutchins, was also transported to a hospital, where she later died. The driver of the truck, 86-year-old Russell Hutchins, was also taken to the hospital; OHP says he is in stable condition.
