Police departments across Green Country are kicking off a national campaign to look for people driving without their seat belt.

Muskogee Police started its campaign Monday.

The National ‘Click It or Ticket’ campaign allows departments to dedicate officers to enforce seat belt laws and spread the message about the dangers of driving without a seat belt.

"It's important that we get out there and enforce it because it is a law and you have to abide by the law. Driving is a privilege it's not a right," said Muskogee officer, Lincoln Anderson.

Muskogee will be doing the targeted seat belt enforcement until June 5th.

A ticket is $20.
