A 21-year-old Mangum man has serious head injuries after jumping from a moving vehicle overnight Thursday, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Troopers say they don't know why he jumped.

An OHP collision report states Kenneth Hall was a passenger in a pickup driven by a 17-year-old man whose name was withheld due to his age. The pickup was westbound on Highway 283 just outside Mangum around 12:23 a.m. when Hall was injured.

He was taken to a local hospital then transferred to Oklahoma City in serious condition with head injuries, the trooper's report states.

Neither the 17-year-old driver nor a 15-year-old passenger were injured.

The incident is under investigation. The driver was in apparently normal condition at the time it happened, troopers say.
