An Atwoods semi truck was one of the vehicles involved in a crash west of Sand Springs. The wreck was reported around 8 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the Keystone Expressway near 177th West Avenue.

The front end of the semi was badly damaged. The grill was smashed in, and the truck's front wheels are knocked off the cab. It appears the semi rear-ended another vehicle.

Five vehicles in all were involved including a blue sedan, silver pickup and silver SUV. The blue sedan has damage to the front and rear. The pickup had been hit from behind.

The semi driver told Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers that the sun was in his eyes, and he didn't see traffic that had slowed for road construction. He rear-ended the pickup which started a chain reaction.

Traffic detoured around the wreck by taking the exit at 177th West Avenue then getting back on.

Two people were taken to the hospital to be checked out. Crews cleaned up diesel and other fluids.
