The Muskogee Civic Center may be getting a Merle Haggard memorial thanks to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame.
The Muskogee Phoenix reports there is a plan to erect a bronze sculpture of Haggard sitting on a bench with his guitar case.
Private donations would pay the $150,000 price tag.
The country music icon recorded his legendary live album "Okie from Muskogee" at the Civic Center in 1969.
He was inducted into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 1997. Merle Haggard died earlier this month at the age of 79.
