Enid Woman Dies In Motorcycle Crash Near Prue

An Enid woman has died after hitting a guardrail with her motorcycle, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says.

According to a collision report, 29-year-old Cristina Mendez crashed about 12:30 p.m. on County Road 1200, about 7/10ths of a mile south of Mud Creek Road, 1 mile south and 2 miles east of Prue city limits in Osage County.

Mendez failed to negotiate a curve, departed the road to the right and hit the guardrail, the report says.

Mendez was pronounced dead at the scene. The report says she was wearing a helmet.

The investigation into the cause of the collision and the condition of the driver is pending, according to OHP.
