Thieves stole a bell weighing about 300 pounds from an American Legion post in Tulsa, officials say.

The bell came from the Webb City School in Osage County - which closed in the 1940s. When the school closed, Charlie Blackstock's grandfather acquired the bell.

His grandfather graduated from the school before joining the Navy.

Blackstock donated the bell to American Legion Post 1, located at 1120 East 8th Street, just a few weeks ago.

"He was a naval veteran,” Blackstock said. “So I thought it would be appropriate to put the bell here at the American Legion."

The bell weighs 200-300 pounds and the number 30 is cast onto it. It's 20" high and 26" wide. It was made by the American Bell Foundry Company in Horthville,, Michigan.

If you know anything about the bell's location, call police.
